Boy in Mumbai juvenile home dies after being sodomised, assaulted

Mumbai, May 29 (IBNS) A 17-year-old boy on Friday died in a Mumbai Juvenile Home after he was allegedly brutally assaulted in custody.

The deceased named two inmates and the warden of David Sassoon Juvenile Home in Matunga, reports said.

He told police before death that he was tortured and sodomised.

The boy had been taken in custody in connection with a theft case on April 17. 

The boy's family members have claimed that he was beaten with bamboo sticks. 

A case of murder has been registered.
