BSF jawan's videos: Rajnath Singh orders inquiry
New Delhi, Jan 10 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has ordered an inquiry into the allegations made by a Border Security Force constable over the near starvation diet served to them at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Wearing his uniform and carrying a rifle, Border Security Force constable Tej Bahadur Yadav has posted few videos on social media alleging that inadequate and tasteless foods are served to the troops.
"I have seen a video regarding a BSF jawan's plight. I have asked the HS to immediately seek a report from the BSF & take appropriate action," Rajnath Singh tweeted.
The BSF said it is 'sensitive' towards the welfare of its jawans.
"BSF is highly sensitive to the welfare of tps.Individual aberrations,if any,are enquired into.A senior officer has already rchd the location," the BSF tweeted.
In the video, the jawan alleged: "We only get a 'parantha' and tea during breakfast. The food is served without any pickle or vegetables."
"For lunch, we only get pulses which only has turmeric and salt and roti," he said.
Yadav alleged that jawans sometimes go to bed on an empty stomach.
The videos have went viral on social media.
