Cauvery Issue: A plate of biryani and Rs 100 for torching 42 buses?
Bangalore, Sept 20 (IBNS): It took just a plate of mutton biryani and Rs 100 to convince a 22-year old woman into torching several buses in the recently concluded attack in Bangalore on Sept 12, media reports said.
C Bhagya is one of the 11 people arrested by police in the recently concluded Cauvery verdict clash.
Karnataka had witnessed a massive protest with several government and public properties destroyed as angry protesters took to the streets to vent anger over the Supreme Court's direction to share waters of Cauvery river with neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
Bhagya, a daily wager, is reported to have instigated the arson attack, which saw 42 buses belonging to a Tamil Nadu operator, go up in flames.
Times of India quoted her mother as saying that some known people had offered her daughter a plate of mutton biryani and Rs 100 and asked her to join the protests.
Bhagya is presently in police custody, where they have kept her for further questioning.
