Congress wants Nehru back in text book
New Delhi, May 9 (IBNS) Miffed about the omission of late Congressman and former Prime Minsiter Jawahar Lal Nehru from the social science textbooks for eight graders in Rajsthan, the Congress has sought an apology from Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, reports said.
State Congress president Sachin Pilot was quoted by The Hindu as saying, "Jawaharlal Nehru’s contribution to the freedom struggle cannot be diminished and we want his name back in the textbook."
Seeking explanation, Pilot said that Raje is accountable for the recent gaffe.
"Unfortunately, there is a mention of Veer Savarkar, but not of Nehru," he said.
The state president said that they will meet the Governor and will consider legal action.
