Curfew continues in Kashmir Valley
Srinagar, July 11 (IBNS) Curfew continued in most parts of the Kashmir Valley on Monday as the death toll following clashes over the killing of top Hizb Commander Burhan Wani reached 21 on Monday.
Tensions prevailed in the Valley as curfew continued for the third consecutive day.
Authorities have put severe restrictions in most areas of Srinagar city and four districts of south Kashmir, officials said.
A policeman was killed after angry mob pushed a mobile bunker of Police Department into River Jhelum in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Sunday.
Officials said that a crowd pushed a police vehicle into River Jhelum in Anantnag district, killing a policeman.
Wani, a 22-year-old commander of Kashmir's largest militant group HM, was killed along with two associates during a brief gun battle with government forces on Friday.
