Cyclone Nada weakens on way to Tamil Nadu, less ferocity expected
Chennai, Dec 1 (IBNS) : Cyclone Nada, heading towards Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the Bay of Bengal, is weakening and is likely to make landfall in the very early hours of Fridaynear Cuddalore.
NDTV quoted the Met office as saying that it may downgraded to being called a "deep depression" rather than a cyclone which was supposed to hit coastal Tamil Nadu.
Reports said It is currently about 350 km away from Tamil Nadu capital Chennai, which has been cloudy since morning with mild showers in some areas.

Teams of the national disaster response force or NDRF have been posted in Cuddalore with both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry being on alert since Wednesday.
While fishermen have been called in from the sea, schools are closed in Tamil Nadu's northern coastal districts like Chennai, Nagapattinam and Cuddalore and in Puducherry for the next two days.
