Delhi liquor policy case: Arvind Kejriwal administered insulin as blood sugar level increased
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is under arrest in connection with the liquor policy scam, was on Tuesday administered insulin in Tihar jail as his blood sugar level increased to 320, media reports said.
This comes after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Tihar Jail administration of not providing insulin to its chief Kejriwal even after a number of requests.
The jail administration refused to accept the accusation and stated the matter of insulin and its necessity were never raised during a virtual conference with specialists from AIIMS.
Rejecting the claim, Kejriwal wrote to the jail administration stating he had been raising the issue for 10 days.
On Kejriwal getting insulin, Delhi minister and AAP leader, Atishi, wrote on X, "Victory to Bajrang Bali. Good news on Hanuman Jayanti - Tihar administration finally gave insulin to Arvind Kejriwal.
"This is the result of Hanumanji's blessings and the struggle of the people of Delhi. Even during this period of struggle, the blessings of Bajrang Bali remain on all of us."

Kejriwal, who is being treated for diabetes by a private doctor based in Telangana, ceased insulin intake a few months ago, according to officials citing the Tihar report. At the time of his arrest, he was relying on a basic anti-diabetes oral medication called Metformin.
In his medical examinations at Tihar jail, Kejriwal informed doctors that he had been using insulin "for the past few years and discontinued it a few months ago," the report stated.
Earlier the AAP had alleged that a conspiracy had been hatched to kill Kejriwal inside the jai claiming that he has Type-2 diabetes and is being denied proper treatment.
