Hunger strike by some app-cab drivers of Bengaluru continues
Bengaluru, Mar 2 (IBNS): The hunger strike by a section of Ola and Uber app-cab drivers in Bengaluru entered its second day on Thursday, according to media reports.
On Wednesday, about 20 drivers decided to go on a hunger strike at Freedom Park in Bengaluru as they claim the app cab aggregators are not paying attention to their falling earnings and other demands.
According to media reports, several opposition parties, including former PM H D Deva Gowda’s Janata Dal (Secular) and the Karnataka BJP have extended support to the protesting drivers.
Reportedly, the companies have failed to reach out to the drivers.
The Bengaluru-based drivers of both companies have been staging protests for a week now.
