Indrani Mukerjea 'consumes pills', undergoing treatment in hospital
Mumbai, Oct 3 (IBNS): A key accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai after she was found unconscious in the Byculla women's jail dormitory on Friday, reports said.
Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea was taken to JJ Hospital from the prison.
Dr T P Lahane, dean of Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital, confirmed to mid-day, "She was brought to the hospital around 2 pm, after she had consumed some pills."
Her stomach wash has been sent for forensic analysis.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday registered a case against three people in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case .
"The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against three private persons under Section 120-B, 364, 302, 307, 328, 201, 202, 203 of IPC and Section 3(25) of Arms Act relating to alleged murder of Ms. Sheena Bora on the request of Maharashtra Government and further notification from Central Government," the CBI said in a statement.
" CBI took over the investigation of the case which was earlier registered by Mumbai Police on the allegations that accused persons hatched a criminal conspiracy to murder Ms. Sheena Bora and in pursuance of the said criminal conspiracy, the accused persons allegedly abducted Ms.Sheena Bora, murdered her and disposed off her body," it said.
The CBI said further investigation into the case will continue.
A key accused in the case Indrani Mukerjea was arrested on Aug 24 for the murder of Sheena Bora, her daughter from an earlier relationship, in 2012.
