New Delhi, Apr 13 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday saluted the martyrs of the brutal killings of innocent people at Punjab's Jallianwala Bagh by British soldiers in colonial India.
The incident drew wide outrage as several notable Indians critised it openly, the most significant being Rabindranath Tagore, the Noble Prize winning poet, denouncing his Knighthood.
PM Modi said, "Saluting all the martyrs who lost their lives in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Their sacrifice & courage can never be forgotten."
