Kashmir : Militant killed in encounter,operation going on
Srinagar, Dec 14 (IBNS) : A militant was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, the encounter took place during a flush out operation being conducted by security forces who threw a cordon around Hadigam village in the Bijbehara area following a tip-off that militants are holed up in a house in the area.
As the security forces zeroed on the house, militants started firing resulting in a gun battle.
The sources said the slain militant was identified as Basit of Madhahama village.
The operation is still going on.
Another operation is going on in the Bomai area of Sopre where a Pakistani militants is believed to be trapped.
Other details of both the operations are yet to come.
