Kejriwal arrives in Patna on a friendship visit
Patna, Aug 27 (IBNS) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Patna on Thursday today to take ahead his bonhomie with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in their fight against the BJP ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.
In Patna, Nitish Kumar hosts Kejriwal at a seminar on good governance. They will also visit the famous Bodh Gaya, the famous Buddhist tourism spot.
Assembly elections are due in Bihar by November this year and Nitish Kumar finds his main enemy in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP which goes whole hog to capture power in the state.
Kejriwal, who rules Delhi but has been under the threat of an aggressive BJP looking for every opportunity to take wind out of his sail, has said his Aam Aadmi Party will not field any candidates in Bihar to ensure that anti-BJP votes are not split.
In Delhi last week, he also requested the millions of Biharis who live in the capital to phone relatives in Bihar and ask them to vote Nitish Kumar back in power.
They have backed each other in their battles with the BJP-led Centre. Earlier, Nitish Kumar also supported Kejriwal's demand for full statehood for Delhi.
Kejriwal criticised PM Modi for his "DNA" comment against Nitish Kumar that questioned the Bihar Chief Minister's political integrity and provoked an Nitish Kumar to make it an issue for election campaign.
In the Delhi elections in February, Kumar's Janata Dal (United) did not field candidates against AAP. Kejriwal's party swept that election, winning 67 of 70 seats.
