Kiran Bedi loses in Krishna Nagar
New Delhi, Feb 10 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi lost to Aam Aadmi Party's S K Bagga in Krishna Nagar constituency by a margin of 2,277 votes as Arvind Kejriwal's party swept the Delhi Assembly polls on Tuesday.
Krishna Nagar was a strong BJP bastion since 1993.
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, however, registered a strong victory against BJP's Nupur Sharma from the crucial New Delhi constituency.
Kejriwal defeated his opponent by 31,583 votes.
Congress Ajay Maken has decided to quit as the party's general secretary following a poor show in the Delhi Assembly.
The Congress failed to win a single seat in the polls.
Delhi witnessed an AAP tsunami as Kejriwal's party is leading in 67 seats while the BJP is ahead in 3 seats.
