Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Qasim killed in encounter
Srinagar, Oct 29 (IBNS) The alleged mastermind of the Udhampur attack in Kashmir, top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Qasim was killed in an overnight encounter in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours on Thursday.
Qasim, a Pakistani terrorist, whose planned attack on August 5 in Udhampur, earlier this year had claimed the lives of two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, was hunted down by a joint team of the Army and the police, who launched an operation in the Khandipora Villiage of the district following a tip-off.
Qasim, who carried a 20 lakh INR bounty on his head was allegedly involved in multiple attacks and is also believed to have killed Altaf Ahmad, a renowned counter-terrorism police officer in Jammu and Kashmir.
