Nagaland Guv wants to quit, Narayanan needs time
New Delhi, June 23 (IBNS) Nagaland Governor Ashwani Kumar on Monday said he has informed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that he wants to resign from his political chair.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan has reportedly told Singh that he needs more time to make up his mind.
Pertinently, both Kumar and Narayanan met Singh here on Friday.
On the other hand, Puducherry Governor Virendra Kataria also met Singh on Monday.
Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt resigned from his political chair on Thursday.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Governor Banwari Lal Joshi, Karnataka Governor HR Bhardwaj and Assam Governor JB Patnaik resigned from their posts on Tuesday.
Joshi sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), while Bhardwaj and Patnaik met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted their papers.
Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7, Race Course Road here on Tuesday.
It was a courtesy call, said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
According to reports, all the Governors, who were appointed by the previous Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, are likely to resign from their posts.
Pertinently, the Governors in Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and West Bengal were appointed by the previous UPA government.
