New Delhi, June 3 (IBNS) : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at 22 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Haryana to unearth terror funding in the Kashmir valley and has so far recovered Rs. 1 crore, NDTV reports.
The raids at 14 locations in J & K, seven in Delhi and one in Haryana, started on Saturday morning after the NIA registered a case the previous day on the basis of a preliminary enquiry.
According to NDTV reports, searches were carried out in the houses of several separatist leaders, their relatives and some businessmen..
The NIA's probe followed a sting operation, aired on a news channel, in which one Nayeem Khan was allegedly seen confessing to receiving money from Pakistan-based terror groups through hawala channels for funding subversive activities in Kashmir.
However, claiming the sting operation was "doctored," Nayeem Khan denied the allegations of receiving funds from Pakistan.
