North Korea fires ballistic missiles
Pyongyang, July 19 (IBNS): Paying no heed to the warnings by the international community, North Korea on Tuesday fired three ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast, US and South Korean officials confirmed.
BBC quoted US officials as saying that the first two were short range missiles, while the last one was a mid-ranged.
Concerned about their neighbour's frequent missile tests, South Korea's Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn was quoted in the media as saying, "The threat to our national security has grown very quickly in a short period of time."
The missile tests are also viewed as perilous by Japan. Japan's Defence Minister Gen Nakatani saw it as "an act of provocation that undermines regional and international security."
Nakatani has also promised possible measures.
"Japan will take all possible measures to deal with any situation," he said.
