In a series of tweets, PM Modi said: "Just spoke to @SushmaSwaraj ji & congratulated her for the excellent speech at the @UN. A perfect articulation of key global issues."
"In her speech EAM @SushmaSwaraj has rightly emphasised on the need to end all forms of terror & make the world a peaceful place to live in."
"EAM @SushmaSwaraj has wonderfully highlighted India's contribution to @UN & shared India's vision of what UN must be in the 21st century."
In a strong rebuttal of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's speech and his four-point suggestion, External Affairs Minister SUshma Swaraj had said India has only point-stop terrorism- before holding talks between the two nations.
Coming down heavily on Pakistan for perpetrating terrorism, Swaraj, in her speech at the UN General Assembly, said : "The future of the international community is now dependent on how we respond to the greatest threat that we face today -- Terrorism."
"Countries that support terror must be made to pay a heavy price," she said.
