PM Modi ready to speak on note ban, but Lok Sabha adjourned in four minutes
New Delhi, Dec 14 (IBNS) : In an indication that the last three days would also be a waste as it was in the entire Winter Session so far, the Lok Sabha was adjourned within four minutes after it began on Wednesday morning with utter chaos ruling the roost even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in Parliament to speak on the debate on note ban.
According to reports, the House was adjourned amid slogan shouting as both the Opposition and the Treasury Bench remained adamant on their respective stands as to whether there should be a vote at the end, which the ruling BJP has been opposing vehemently.
Senior union minister Ananth Kumar accused the opposition parties of "sabotage".
The BJP says though the PM is ready to speak but the Opposition has not been allowing to by disrupting Parliament.
The session, that began on November 16, has so far witnessed little legislative work and most bills, including those related to the ambitious Goods and Services Tax or GST are still pending. The Budget session will begin in January.
The opposition has been demanded that PM Modi must be present through the debate and then explain the notes ban.
The Opposition has also accused the PM of speaking only outside Parliament.
