Stormy start for budget session over price rise, LS adjourned
New Delhi, July 7 (IBNS) The first budget session of the Narendra Modi government began on Monday with a ruckus over the price rise in Lok Sabha forcing an adjournment of the lower house.
While the government agreed to a price rise discussion in Rajya Sabha, the opposition demanded to know what thegovernment is doing to contain price rise in Lok Sabha.
Opposition leaders shouted and demanded explanations on price rise.
The session will have 28 sittings.
Prime Minister Modi in Lok Sabha earlier introduced Piyush Goyal to the House. The Minister was not introduced earlier when PM introduced his Ministers.
While there is a heavy majority for the ruling BJP and NDA in Parliament, the opposition also closed ranks to attack thegovernment on the issue of price rise.
Congress might seek an adjournment motion on price rise in Parliament.
