Telengana CM Rao writes to Rajnath Singh over judicial crisis, says creation of state incomplete
Hyderabad, June 29 (IBNS) Telengana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who earlier said he would stage a sit-in demonstration in Delhi soon protesting the delay in the creation of separate High Courts for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, has written to the Centre explaining how he felt that the creation of the new state is "incomplete".
Rao in a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the Centre should divide judicial officers in accordance with the law under which Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated.
"The process initiated by the intent of Parliament to divide the state and create Telangana is incomplete as the division is limited to the executive and legislature only as the high court is yet to be divided," KCR wrote to Singh, quoted media.
The Chief Minister indicated earlier that the centre has been delaying on separating the High Courts. Under the AP Reorganisation Act, the two states will have separate High Courts and judicial authorities.
The Telangana judges have already quit their posts and launched an agitation with a demand to stop the filling up the vacant posts with their Andhra Pradesh counterparts. They also submitted a memorandum to the Governor on Sunday.
