TMC leader Sonali Guha caught ordering assault of CPI-M polling agents
Kolkata, Apr 30 (IBNS) Trinamool Congress MLA and Deputy Speaker in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Sonali Guha was caught on camera engaged in a verbal altercation with Central Armed Forces men at a polling booth in Satgachia area of West Bengal and also ordering party workers to drive out CPI-M polling agent by beating him.
The altercation reportedly occurred when she was not allowed by security forces from going close to electronic voting machine inside the booth.
She also also caught on camera calling supporters to reach Satgachia and beat up CPI-M polling agents and driving them out.
The CPI-M said it will take up the issue with the Election Commission and complain about it.
Around 20 percent electorates cast their votes as polling in the fifth phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections is currently underway on Saturday.
19.64 percent voters have exercised their franchise till 9 am.
Voting began at 7 am across 53 constituencies of South 24 Parganas, Kolkata south and Hooghly districts.
Over 1.2 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise in more than 14,500 booths in the three districts of the state.
The main contest in the three districts are between the ruling Trinamool Congress, Left-Front- Congress alliance and the BJP.
