Two killed as Duranto Express derails in Karnataka
Bangalore, Sept 12 (IBNS): At least two people were killed as nine coaches of Secunderabad-Mumbai Duranto Express derailed in Karnataka's Gulbarga district on the wee hours of Saturday, reports said.
The mishap occurred at around 2 am.
Rescue operations were carried out in the night.
Injured people were rushed to hospital.
"Saddened by Duranto accident.Ordered enquiry.Immediate medical relief& other assistance rushed.Chair Rail board asked to rush," Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted.
"All 7 injured rushed to civil hospital, treatment on,rail doctors r on job.All arrangements made to take others to destination,special train," he said.
