26/11 plotter Lakhvi might walk free from Pakistan jail
Lahore, Apr 9 (IBNS) The Lahore High Court has declared the detention of 26/11 Mumbai attack plotter Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi in a Pakistan jail as illegal. He might get a release soon, said media reports in Pakistan on Thursday.
Reports said the court asked him to pay a surety bond for his release.
Earlier Pakistan had assured India that Lakhvi they would ensure that he stays in jail.
The Islamabad High Court acquitted Lakhvi earlier evoking strong protests from India.
The court said there is no such evidence against Lakhvi to keep him in jail.
However, after India took up the matter at the highest level, the Punjab state government of Pakistan slapped fresh charges on Lakhvi which are supposed to keep him in detention for some more time.
