Air India mourns death of staff in Mumbai mishap
New Delhi, Dec 17 (IBNS): Air India has mourned the death of a staff during a mishap at the Mumbai airport on Wednesday.
The national carrier has started an investigation into the matter.
An Air India staff was sucked to death inside the engine of a parked aircraft at the Mumbai airport, reports said.
The technical staff died instantly after being sucked into the engine.
"AI CMD MrAshwani Lohani said we are deeply saddened & regret the tragic incident @ Mumbai airport this evening when an Air India technician died in a mishap during pushback of flight AI 619. The incident is being investigated. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family," Air India tweeted.
The deceased staff has been identified as Ravi Subramaniam.
