Amit Shah arrives in Kolkata, to chair Eastern Zonal Council meeting in presence of Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna
Kolkata : Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) meeting at the West Bengal state secretariat Nabanna on Saturday in presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Shah arrived in Kolkata on Friday evening to a grand welcome by state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Sukanta Majumdar and Suvendu Adhikari
Soon after his arrival, he headed for a party meeting at BJP state headquarters on Muralidhar Sen Lane in the central part of the city with senior members of the party in Bengal.
Security has been beefed up around the BJP office and the state secretariat for Saturday's meeting, a police officer said.
Besides Banerjee and her counterparts and representatives from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Sikkim are set to attend the EZC meeting on Saturday.
