Arvind Kejriwal urges EC to use ballot papers, not EVMs in MCD polls
New Delhi,Mar 14 (IBNS) : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday urged the Election Commission not to use electronic voting machines in the upcoming Delhi municipal polls, reports said.
In his letter to the poll panel, the CM, who is also chief of the Aam Aadmi Party, said ballot papers and not EVMs should be used for voting.
His move came amid allegations by certain sections of EVM tampering in Uttar Pradesh elections, where the BJP scored an astounding victory.
On Monday, Congress leader Lalit Maken had advised Kejriwal to hold the MCD elections through ballot papers.
The MCD elections are due in April.
