Baloch leaders accuse Pakistan of committing genocide
Quetta/Islamabad, Nov 6 (IBNS): Baloch leaders Brahumdagh Bugti and Mehran Marri in a joint statement have accused the Pakistan government of committing genocide in the region and said that the former will be facilitating demonstrations worldwide to capture attention of stronger economies to act upon the crime.
The statement, which was shared by Bugti on Twitter, read: "Gross human rights abuses, war crimes, enforced disappearances, torture, recovery of mutilated dead bodies and targeting of civilians including women and children have become a routine practice by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. These are crimes against humanity and a sheer violations of international laws."
An ensuing paragraph said that both Bugti and Marri will hold international awareness campaign against Baloch genocide.
Hours after the announcement was made, a demonstration was held at 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister.
Slogans of 'free Balochistan' were also raised.
