BJP celebrates massive win in MCD polls while AAP and Congress count the losses
New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) sweeping victory in the recently concluded Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) poll has been the talk across social media on Wednesday with nearly everyone tweeting about the outcome and their opinion on the same.
As the mandate became clear in the afternoon, tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "Grateful to the people of Delhi for the faith in BJP. I laud the hardwork of team @BJP4Delhi which made the resounding MCD win possible."
Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, accepting his party's defeat, tweeted, "I congratulate BJP on their victory in all 3 MCDs. My govt looks forward to working wid MCDs for the betterment of Delhi."
Tweeted Finance and Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley, "Congratulations to people of Delhi, @BJP4India Karyakartas & supporters for the emphatic victory of BJP in the #MCDelections2017."
The official handle of BJP Delhi tweeted in Hindi that it was the hard work by the BJP 'karyakartas' which has made the party's win possible in MCD,
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, ShivrajSingh Chouhan tweeted, "Delhi has rejected the politics of drama & agitation, and overwhelmingly supported develpment agenda of @BJP4India and PM @narendramodi."
He also said, "#MCDresults once again prove that @BJP4India is the only party which can provide sustainable development and build a new strong India."
BJP President, who is in West Bengal, congratulated Delhi party unit chief and MP Manoj Tiwari and the party workers who made the win possible.
He tweeted in Hindi saying that the people of Delhi have rejected the politics of excuses and accusations and have chosen to vote for the welfare style of politics led by the prime minister.
Taking the responsibility for his party's debacle, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken has said he will resign from his post, according to media reports.
Former Delhi CM and veteran Congress leader Sheila Dixit said on Wednesday that the Congress Party should have campaigned more vigorously against the BJP, media reported.
