BJP'S vision document sparks protests in Assam

Guwahati, Feb 4 (IBNS) : The BJP's vision document for the Delhi assembly election had stirred up a controversy as it allegedly referred the people of North Eastern region in the national capital as "immigrants". The reference sparked a huge protests in Assam on Wednesday.

Several organizations  protested across the state against the BJP's vision document and burned effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

More than hundred activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samittee (KMSS) had protested at Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati.

 

"We are Indian, and no one should alternate our identity. BJP has no knowledge of North Eastern region. BJP had given safeguard to illegal Bangladeshis in Assam, " KMSS president Akhil Gogoi said.

 

On other hand opposition political party  Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) too protested and burned effigy of PM Modi across the state.

 

"We are not safe under Modi government who showed their real pictures during only half year term," AGP president Atul Bora said.

 

AASU, AJYCP, ULFA(I) also reacted on the issue and demanded unconditional apology from BJP.
