FASII to host Business Accelerator Summit in Kolkata
Kolkata, July 24 (IBNS): The Federation of Associations of Small Industries (FASII) today flagged off its Business Accelerator Summit with special emphasis on MSME: The Pathfinder of INDIA NEXT in Kolkata on Tuesday at the ICCR Auditorium.
Sadhan Pande, Minister of Consumer Affairs and Self-Help Group and Self Employment, Government of West Bengal, inaugurated the Summit.
FASII, which is a Delhi-based apex body for small industries in the country since 1959, also conferred excellency awards on successful MSME entrepreneurs at the Summit.
The Business Accelerator Summit is a run-up to the two-day SYNERGY Conclave to be organized by the West Bengal Government next month (August 20-21, 2018), at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Newtown, Kolkata.
“Small industries is a very important sector and the West Bengal government has come up with many unique schemes like Muktidhara for imparting skill development training to the youth in villages so that they can earn their livelihood by staying in their respective villages and also become employable. The state government has also started facilities for soft loan to the youth. FASII should focus on the young talent available in West Bengal in areas like training in advanced equipment,” said Sadhan Pande, Minister of Consumer Affairs and Self-Help Group and Self Employment, Government of West Bengal.
“The focus of FASII Business Accelerator Summit, with special emphasis on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) roadmap for INDIA NEXT, is to highlight the difficulties faced by Micro and Small Enterprises in terms of Finance, including delayed payment, Reduction of purchase order to MSEs, Export Bottlenecks, Dearth of proper Research & Development for Technology Upgrade and other related issues. The primary objective is to assist the MSME sector unlock its growth potential fully,” said Jahar Chandra Chandra, Regional Chairman, FASII.
FASII, which has played a pioneering role for the small industries, will take an initiative to articulate some of the vexed issues like bank credit, delayed payment, reduction of purchase orders plaguing the growth of MSMEs in the country. FASII has four regional offices and a pan-India membership base.
Earlier, FASII has been instrumental in the formation of SIDBI and its relentless effort had led to the framing of the MSME Act 2006 which created a separate Union Ministry on MSME.
“FASII Eastern Region would be pro-active in the coming days to espouse the cause of micro and small industries in the region and work in collaboration with other bodies to unlock the tremendous growth potential of this sector. FASII would help the sector embrace digital technology tools and also leverage the advantages of social media. FASII is gearing up to create an effective Business Builder System for growth through seminars, talks shows, events, planning App-based services for the members,” said Chiranjib Ghosh, Chairman, West Bengal Chapter, FASII.
