Global Robotic Surgery Symposium presents a unique learning experience
Miami :When accomplished robotic surgeons meet to share their ideas, innovations and procedures away from their busy days at operation theatres, after care wards, or consulting patients it can be the best time to learn and exchange ideas.
Nearly a hundred of them found time to meet for the "Humans on the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery" symposium in late November at Miami. For them it was also an opportunity to felicitate global peers who had won accolades at the KS International Innovation Award 2022, a robotic surgery video competition which had started in India in for urologists and this year became a multi-disciplinary global competition.
The highlight of the symposium was a session on how surgical precision improves patient outcomes by Mani Menon, Chief of Strategy and Innovation, Department of Urology, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, seen here with Mahendra Bhandari, CEO, Vattikuti Foundation and Raj Vattikuti, President and Founder, Vattikuti Foundation.
The event also brought the robotic surgeons face to face with the Vattikuti Foundation founders,Raj and Padma Vattikuti.

Thadi Mohan and AV Gurava Reddy, Chief Joint Replacement Surgeon, Vattikuti Centre of Excellence at Sunshine Hospitals, Hyderabad moderated the discussion on Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery.

James O Peabody, Vice-Chair Academics and Research, Vattikuti Urology Institute, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit moderated one session: ‘Robotic infraclaviclar approach to minimally invasive neck dissection’ (RIA-MIND) in head and neck cancers’ by Dr Sandeep Nayak, Chief of Surgical Oncology, Professor & Head, Minimal Access Surgical Oncology, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru.
Rooma Sinha, Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeon, Apollo Health City, Hyderabad’s presented the nuances of ‘3D-digital model for precise pre surgical planning in robotic myomectomy’ in her video presentation in a session on Gynaecologic Surgery moderated by Dr Arnold P. Advincula, Head of Gynaecologic Specialty Surgery, Sloane Hospital for Women, New York.
