Hardik Patel casts vote in phase two of Gujarat poll
Gandhinagar, Dec 14 (IBNS): Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel, a popular anti-BJP face in Gujarat, has cast his vote in the second phase of the state poll, media reports said.
The phase two of the poll began on Thursday morning.
Hardik, who had earlier agitated against the ruling BJP over Patidar reservation issue, forged an alliance with the Congress to fight the Gujarat poll.
The Congress' list of candidates includes names of three Patidar candidates.
Hardik, after forming the alliance to fight the poll, said the Congress agreed to the conditions of the PAAS.
The second phase of the poll is taking place in north and central Gujarat.
Around 2.2 crore people will cast their vote in the last phase.
There are 182 seats in Gujarat in total. The first phase of the poll was held in 89 seats on Dec 9.
While the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fighting hard to retain their strong hold in the state, the Congress is trying to return to power after 22 years.
The counting of votes will be held on Dec. 18.
The saffron-brigade is ruling the state since 1995.
