PM Modi condemns violence in the name of Gau Bhakti, says violence won't solve problems
Ahmedabad, Jun 29 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the activities of the cow vigilantes while addressing a public gathering in Gujarat on Thursday, according to media reports.
He said, "Killing people in the name of Gau Bhakti is not acceptable. This is not something Mahatma Gandhi would approve."
The PM reached Gujarat on a two-day visit on Thursday. He will join programmes in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Modasa and Gandhinagar.
Modi said, "As a society, there is no place for violence. No person in this nation has the right to take the law in his or her own hands in this country."
"We come from the land of non-violence," the PM said, "Violence won't solve any problem."
On Thursday, Prime Minister delivered his address at the Sabarmati Ashram, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
