PM Modi pays tribute to Bal Thackeray on his death annivarsary
New Delhi, Nov 17 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on his third death anniversary.
Modi tweeted: "Balasaheb Thackeray was committed to the well-being of people. He was widely admired by Karyakartas. Tributes to him on his Punya Tithi."
Bal Keshav Thackeray, popularly known as Balasaheb or Bal Thackeray, was a Marathi cartoonist turned politician who established the Hindu right-wing party, Shiv Sena.
Over the years Thackeray emerged as a powerful leader whose life story became the subject of many Bollywood and Tamil films.
Till his regime, Thackeray received constant criticism for his staunch Hindu stance and political game-play.
