PM pays homage to CS Azad on his birth anniversary
New Delhi, July 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid homage to Indian freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad on his birth anniversary.
"I salute the courageous Chandra Shekhar Azad, who won the admiration of countless Indians due to his valour, on his birth anniversary," PM Modi tweeted.
Azad was born in 1906 and died 25 years later in 1931, self immolating himself with the last remaining bullet in his pistol, after being surrounded by British soldiers. Azad had famously vowed to not surrender to his colonial rulers.
