New Delhi, Feb 4 (IBNS) As the date for Delhi polls drew closer electioneering went high on steam with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'failing' to meet his promises.
"You voted for Mr Modi in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections. Did your lives change?," Rahul asked while addressing an election rally in north-west Delhi's Jangirpuri area.
"The country has realised that big promises were made to them, but not fulfilled...
Modiji's Make in India has not given employment to anyone."
"Mr Modi had said that the inflation will come down...When it was the UPA government in Delhi, the international prices of fuel/barrel was very high at $140. It has now come down to $40 per barrel. Has the prices dropped so much for you?," Rahul asked.
"You are not going to get anything from Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal.
They want different communities to fight.Congress party stands for communal harmony."
Making promises for the Congress, the Sonia scion said if there was a Congress government, everyone would have his own house within two years. "Within a week, we will make all contract labour in offices like DTC permanent," he said.
"We changed Delhi. There's little work left to be done and we will complete it
In 6 months we will reduce power rates to Rs 1.50 per unit and make water cheaper."
Rahul said UPA suffered political loss due to land acquisition bill.
"We passed the land acquisition bill -- there was no task that was more difficult in the UPA II tenure but we did it," he said.
