Rajnath Singh vows to give befitting reply to terror attacks
New Delhi, Jan 2 (IBNS) Condemning the terror attack at Pathankot Air Force base in Punjab, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday vowed to give a befitting reply, reports said.
"This is an unfortunate incident and would like to stress that any aggression towards us will receive a befitting reply from our side," Singh said.
While praising the security forces for neutralising the terrorists, he said, "We are proud of our security agencies for restricting their (terrorists) movement inside the base. We are keeping a close watch on the situation."
"Pakistan is our neighbour, we want peace, but any terror attack on India will get a befitting response. We believe in cordial relationship with our neighbour. It is unfortunate that despite our effort to maintain better relationship with our neighbours, such terror attacks are happening in India."
Around 3.30 am, heavily armed terrorists stormed the Air Force base from back side of the premises. So far four terrorists were killed. Two jawans also lost their lives in the prolonged gun battle.
