Twelve Government officials sacked in J & K for fuelling trouble
Srinagar, Oct 20 (IBNS) : The Mehbooba Mufti Government in Jammu and Kashmir has sacked 12 officials for indulging in "anti-national activities" that allegedly stoked unrest in the state, NDTV reported.
More than 100 other Government employees are reported under scanner and more sackings could follow, the report said.
The dismissal order for 12 mid level officials was issued on Wednesday on the basis of a report prepared by the state police.
Several of the sacked employees have been charged under the Public Safety Act, which has provision for imprisonment without trial for six months.
Kashmir has been on boil for nearly three-and-a-half months after Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter on July 8.
The regular violence in the valley since then has so far claimed more than 90 lives and left more than 12,000 people wounded.
