Kolkata: Hours after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced to remove Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal bowing to the demands of protesting junior doctors over the RG Kar rape-murder case in a marathon meeting to end the deadlock, the state government on Tuesday appointed Manoj Kumar Verma as the new Kolkata police chief.
