Afghan deputy Governor shot dead
Kandahar, Nov 3 (IBNS): The Deputy Governor of Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan, Abdul Qadeem Patyall was shot dead on Monday while he was sitting in class at a university, media reported.
According to reports, 32-year-old leader Patyall died of his injuries after a gunman opened fire on him through the window of a classroom at Kandahar University.
Patyall was seriously wounded and died later in hospital.
It has been learnt that Patyall was studying to become a teacher.
President Ashraf Ghani has sent condolences to Patyall's family and described his killing as a terrorist attack, the presidential palace said.
A government delegation will investigate the incident.
No group, till now, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier in July a suicide bomber killed Hasmat Karzai, a cousin of the country's last president Hamid Karzai.
