BJP MPs to observe fast protesting Parliament stalemate

New Delhi, Apr 6 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that BJP MPs will observe a fast on April 12 to protest the impasse in Parliament, media reports said.

Speaking at a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, the PM blamed the opposition, particularly the Congress, for indulging in  "divisive and negative politics" and claimed that the BJP, on the other hand, has been pursuing an "inclusive politics."

"The Prime Minister said at a BJP Parliamentary Party  meeting that the ruling party was doing an inclusive politics while the opposition was doing divisive and negative politics due to the saffron party's rising strength, Parliamentary Affairs Minister  Ananth Kumar told reporters.

BJP will protest against this  negative attitude of Congress,  Ananth Kuma said. 


"BJP works for connecting people, Congress works for dividing people. Congress indulges in divisive, negative politics. It didn't let the House function. We'll sit in protest against the negative attitude of Congress during last 23 days, Kumar said.

Almost the entire second leg of the budget session was a washout with both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessing intermittent adjournments everyday following persisent ruckus raised by opposition members over various issues. 

The second half of the session, which began on  March five recorded  no legislative business being transacted,  barring the crucial Finance Bill by Lok Sabha.
 
Friday is the last day of the session.
