New Delhi, Mar 19 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said the Centre is ready for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the death of senior IAS officer D K Ravi in Bangalore.
He said he has spoken to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the issue.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Singh said: "The Karnataka CM has told me that after getting a report in 2 days, he will be briefing the Centre on the issue."
"The Centre is ready for a CBI inquiry into the matter," he said.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 12:45 pm.
Bangalore has been witnessing protests over the death of the IAS officer and on Thursday ABVP workers reportedly clashed with the police during an agitation in the city, reports said.
D.K. Ravi was found dead in his residence in Bangalore city on Monday.
Ravi, who took on the sand mafia in the district, had allegedly received threat calls before his death.
He was the Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement).
Bangalore Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi earlier told reporters: "Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide."
No suicide note was found, the police said.
Ravi was a 2009 batch IAS officer.
