Delhi Govt challenges reports of bureaucrats seeking transfer

New Delhi, May 20 (IBNS) The Delhi government has challenged reports that bureaucrats, worried about getting caught in a crossfire between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung are lobbying for transfers to other states.

"If TV channels who are reporting this have letters from officers seeking transfers, please share them with us," said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, in a series of  tweets.

He met this morning with top bureaucrats to address their concerns.

NDTV has reported that  nearly 20 officers have asked to be moved out of the capital.

Kejriwal recently issued instructions to bureaucrats that they will not take any order from the Lieutenant Governor without clearing it with him or ministers concerned.

The AAP government has accused Jung of overstepping his jurisdiction and meddling in the appointment of officers.

"The Lt Governor is running the government as if it is under President's rule,"  Sisodia said on Tuesday.

Both  Kejriwal and the Lt. Governor met President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday separately and accused each other of violating the Constitution.

Jung also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and reportedly complained of a "Constitutional breakdown."
