Globsyn Business School holds its 12th Annual Convocation
Kolkata, Feb 9 (IBNS): Globsyn Business School (GBS) on Sunday held its 12th Annual Convocation in Kolkata.
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, State Information Commissioner G. D. Gautama and Globsyn Group's founder and executive chairman Bikram Dasgupta were present at the event where a total of 198 management students from GBS's various departments, including PGDM, PGPM, PGPM (International) and EPGDM, were felicitated.
Globsyn Business School, with its belief in learning ‘Beyond Education’, also recognised outstanding contributions of several GBS student-volunteers who are a part of the Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum (KYLF). Members of KYLF undertake the B-School’s ‘care for society’ initiatives implemented under the aegis of Kalyani - a Bikram Dasgupta Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Globsyn Group's executive chairman Bikram Dasgupta said, "Globsyn Business School believes in learning 'Beyond the Education'. Every year when I get up to speak on an occasion like this, it's a very emotional moment for me. I always think about adding value to my students."
"I want to announce that our next project at our national campus will be a 250-seat residential hostel which will have rooms, a lounge and energy grids. We will have buildings for executive education, which I have seen the world over like the executive education centre in Harvard Business School," Dasgupta added.
The chief guest at the event, WB Education Minister Partha Chatterjee told IBNS: "Globsyn Business School, which is India's only corporate B-school, is doing a very good job. We need skilled working people in this state and country. If these people get proper skill development training and education, India will have maximum number of working youth population by 2020."
"Not only India, our state will also have a large number of working youth. We have built 46 new colleges (30 government and 16 private) in the last 4 years. We want to make our youth ready so that they can work in any sector," Chatterjee further said.
