Government takes serious view of hate crimes against Indians in US : Rajnath Singh
New Delhi, Mar 9 (IBNS) : The Government takes a serious view of the alleged hate crimes against Indians in the US and it will make a statement on the matter in Parliament next week, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.
"What is happening in the US is being viewed seriously by the Government and a statement would be made in Parliament next week," he said during Question Hour.
Singh made the terse statement after Opposition members raised the issue, particularly citing the instances of the murder of Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla and businessman Harnish Patel in the US.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar also said the Government was very much concerned about the incidents in the US.
