Highlights of Central Instrumentation & Student Welfare Centers of Kakatia University
Kakatiya University is a leading public university located in the state of Warangal, Telangana. The university was established in 1976. Kakatiya University has always been on the upfront for the welfare of students and has always tried to provide the best possible services to its students.
Kakatiya University has established various departments, cells, and centers to facilitate the students. Some of these are- Cell for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. BR Ambedkar Study Center, Student Welfare Center, Gymnasium and Play fields, Central Instrumentation Center, Health center and others. All these centers are specially established to provide a healthy and fun environment to its students. Let’s have a detailed look at two of such centers- Central Instrumentation Center and Student Welfare Center.
Central Instrumentation Center at Kakatiya University
Central Instrumentation Center at Kakatiya University was established in 1979. Since the university has always tried to provide best services to its students, the goal of establishing this department was to provide the students pursuing different courses in the stream of science with the best possible instruments for their study and research. Faculties from Physics and Engineering departments are in charge of this center. Though the Central Instrumentation Center at Kakatiya University was established way back in 1979, it does not mean that university is using any outdated material or instrument for its students. Recently, the university replaced 3 old spectrophotometers with newer and modern spectrophotometers.
INSTRUMENTS AVAILABLE
The center provides six different, modern instruments to its students– Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, DSC and TGA, Fluorescence Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, and Multichannel analyzer. All these instruments are easily available for use to students pursuing post-graduation or PH.D. The university updates these instruments on a regular basis and has always been keen to add more instruments in the center that could facilitate students.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Kakatiya University has been successful in getting grants up to INR 10 Lac from University Grants Commission (UGC), for upgradation of their Central Instrumentation Center. With the help of these grants, university has been able to install new types of equipment and upgrade the existing ones.
The faculties of Central Instrumentation Center of Kakatiya University have been publishing their research papers regularly in various journals.
The Central Instrumentation Center has been made available to Engineering, Physics and Pharma students of the University for their Study and research at Post Graduate and Doctorate Level. The most impressive fact about this center is that not only the students of Kakatiya University are allowed to pursue their research here, but the students of many nearby colleges are allowed to visit here for their research work. This really is a huge achievement as Kakatiya University’s Central Instrumentation Center has turned itself into a research and study hub for various nearby colleges and institutes.
University has also been arranging many workshops and exhibitions under this center, to highlight its facilities and provide guidance and educate students of the Warangal Area.
Student Welfare Center at Kakatiya University
Kakatiya University has also established a Student Welfare program to aid students regarding various issues. This center is divided into three parts- The Counseling Bureau, The Career Guidance Bureau, and Student Welfare Bureau. All three parts of the Student Welfare Center organize their own programs and activities for its students.
COUNSELING BUREAU
Counseling Bureau at Kakatiya University was established to guide students towards the right path for their future. In this part of the Student Welfare Center, candidates are educated about various courses and job profiles that they can opt for in future. It also aims to solve queries regarding the courses offered for higher education in the same or different university. The main focus of this bureau is to spread awareness amongst students regarding various opportunities and career avenues available to them.
CAREER GUIDANCE BUREAU
The focus of Career Guidance Bureau in Kakatiya University is to educate students of various skills required for building an efficient career and to impart those skills in the candidates. This cell not only tells candidates about various career opportunities, but also organizes many activities and events such as Interviews, Debates, Group Discussions, and Presentations, so that candidates are able to acquire the necessary skills. The cell is also responsible for arranging Industry Interactions, Personality Development Classes, and Entrepreneurship classes for students of Kakatiya University.
STUDENT WELFARE BUREAU
This cell arranges various activities that helps its students in personality development. This includes helping them improve their Communication Skills, General Knowledge, Intelligence Quotient, EQ, Resume preparation and others. The cell provides social training to students to help them develop the sense of responsibility towards society, maintain healthy teacher-student relation and working to create a better environment for education. However, the major responsibility of this cell is to co-ordinate the activities of various other cells like Coaching Center for Minorities, Center for Women Studies, SC and ST cell, Yoga Center and others.
So, we saw that Kakatiya University is not just a good university on the academic front but it is also good at providing many other necessary services to students. Features and Activities like this have made Kakatiya University a favored destination for students of Telangana Region, for their higher studies.
