Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 11 (IBNS): Kerala Finance Minister KM Mani was arrested by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in connection with a bribery case on Thursday, media reports said.

A first information report (FIR) was filed against Mani based on preliminary investigations into allegations that he accepted Rs. 1 crore as part of a deal to renew the licenses of 418 “sub-standard” bars that were closed in the state last year.

Mani, however, denied all allegations against him.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy rejected the allegations dubbing it as “politically motivated and far from the reality”.

Mani belongs to the Kerala Congress(M) which is a key ally in the Kerala government led by Chandy.
