MIG-27 of IAF crashes in West Bengal: 2 people killed
Alipurduar, West Bengal, May 9 (IBNS) A MiG-27 aircraft of Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in West Bengal's Alipurduar on Friday killing two civilians though the pilot ejected safely.
Reports quoted an IAF spokesman as saying that two civilians on ground were killed in the accident.
The aircraft crashed in Tantipara near Alipurduar town around 8:30 pm shortly after taking off from Hasimara airbase.
The impact of the crash blew away some of the tin shades of nearby shanties, reports said.
Reports said a court of inquiry into the incident has been ordered.
