PM unhappy over temple in his name
New Delhi, Feb 12 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his displeasure over building of a temple dedicated to him in Gujarat and said it was a 'shocking' move and against Indian tradition.
In a series of tweets, Modi said: "Have seen the news about a Temple being built in my name. I was appalled. This is shocking & against India's great traditions."
"Building such Temples is not what our culture teaches us. Personally, it made me very sad. Would urge those doing it not to do it," he said.
The Prime Minister said: "If you have time & resources, please devote the same towards fulfilling our dream of a Clean India."
According to reports, the temple has been built in Kotharia village near Gujarat's Rajkot city.
Modi had served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat before winning the Lok Sabha polls last year.
